Day 1: Arrive Casablanca
You arrive in Morocco and met by your driver in the arrivals area just
outside the baggage claim and customs area . After arrival you'll enjoy
breakfast and a hot cup of tea / coffee, freshen up and get ready for
a panoramic city tour of Casablanca, keeping active upon arrival, may
help adjusting to the local time.
Casablanca : the business capital of Morocco. You will visit the new
Hassan II Mosque on the ocean, the next largest Mosque only to Mecca
.. You 'll tour the its exterior and depending upon your arrival day
and time , a complimentary tour of the interior is available , outside
of the prayers time. On Fridays, as well as during prayers times we
will not be able to tour the mosque.
This site is a magnificent example of true Moroccan architecture and
hand crafted opulence. Overnight in your hotel in Casablanca.
Day 2: Rabat . Meknes. Volubilis. Fes
Breakfast. Then you have a short drive to Rabat, Morocco's capitol.
You have a tour of Rabat visiting the Kasbah of Oudaya, Hassan Tower
and Chella built in the 12th century. A stop at the mausoleum of Mohammed
V, the present kings father and a pass by the king’s palace and
other government buildings. Continue to Meknes, Volubilis and Fes (200km,
3 hrs.) you will travel to Fez via Meknes, where you will have a drive
tour of this former Imperial city of Morocco. You will see the old ramparts;
the Agdoul Basin, which was used to water the royal gardens and amuse
the favorite concubines; the Moulay Ismail royal stables, granaries
and House of Water (Dar el Ma) which were built in the 17th and 18th
centuries to house, feed and water the sultan's twelve thousand horses,
Bab el Mansour, one of the most beautiful gates in Morocco; the Moulay
Ismail mausoleum, one of the few holy sites in Morocco which may be
visited by non-Moslems; and the intrigue of the Meknes landscape , on
to Fes where comfortable beds await us. Dinner is includedd tonight
at the hotel.
Day 3- Volubilis
Today you will visit Volubilis, the Roman capitol of Northwestern Africa
with its impressive and well-preserved Roman ruins, including approximately
30 mosaic floors dating back to 25BC. Lunch box is included in our rate
along with bottled water ( one for each guest)
Dinner and overnight in your hotel. (B, D) Guides: Rabat, Meknes/Volubilis
Day 4 : Fes.
Breakfast. Full day tour of Fes Today you have a guided sightseeing
tour of this famous Imperial City, highlighting the old and new medinas.
Fez has been the religious capitol of Morocco. You will visit the 14th
century religious schools (medersas) of Bou Inania and Attarine. You
will wander the impressive labyrinths of the souks, which have been
declared by Unesco to be one of the world’s cultural treasures.
You will have a wonderful photo opportunity at the imposing gate of
Bab Bajloud, the splendid fountains at Palais Nejjarine, the ancient
ramparts and the beautiful front entrance of the royal palace. Tonight
you will enjoy a multi-course Moroccan dinner in the old medina at a
beautifully preserved palace with music (B, Special dinner) Guide: Fes,
full day.
Day 5 : Midelt, Errachidia
and Erfoud
Breakfast. Midelt, Errachidia and Erfoud, The Sand Dunes of Merzouga.
(421km, 8 hrs) An early morning start through Midelt with its dramatic
views of the peaks of the High Atlas, continuing on through the town
of Errachidia to Erfoud. A night Bedouin style at the Sand Dunes of
Merzouga. You are met in Erfoud by your 4x4 and continue 1 hour to the
desert. You have your own private bivouac site and staff. Here you have
a short camel trek around the dunes to experience the desert sunset.
Your tent is equipped with mattress, blankets and carpets. A restaurant
tent is decorated entirely in desert camp style where your cooks prepare
your meals and local musicians will delight you as you sit on cushions
and dine Bedouin style. Your campsite has complete personal facilities.
Tonight you have a specially prepared Berber dinner and overnight under
a tent in the desert. (B, Special D)
Day 6 :Dades Valley,
Todra Gorges, Skoura Kasbah and Ouarzazate
Breakfast. Dades Valley, Todra Gorges, Skoura Kasbah and Ouarzazate
(310km, 6 hrs.) Start your day with a picturesque drive along the Route
of 1000 Kasbahs. Pass by palm grove oases and Kasbah dwellings; through
Dades Valley; along the Gorges of Todra where you will marvel at the
cliffs of these gorges high above where you stand; through the Skoura
Kasbah area. You continue on to Ouarzazate, a film industry center where
many American and European films have been made. Dinner and overnight
at your hotel in Ouarzazate (B, D)
Day 7 :Ait Ben Haddou
and Marrakech
Breakfast. Ait Ben Haddou and Marrakech (235km, 4 ½ hrs) Mornings
visit to the impressive Ait Ben Haddou, an 11th century structure declared
by UNESCO as an historical treasure, a photographer’s wonderland.
We continue up the High Atlas Mountains at Tiz N'Tichka Pass, then through
the fertile Haouz Plain to the "pink city" of Marrakech. You
check into your hotel for 4 nights in this fascinating and intriguing
Moroccan city. This is one of Morocco’s Imperial Cities that will
leave you with the fondest memories imaginable. Breakfast and dinner
in your hotel. (B,D)
Day 8 : Marrakech
Breakfast. Marrakech. Today you have a full day guided tour of this
famous city: tour the Menara Gardens, its Saadian Pavilion and olive
groves. We visit the "old medina" and its wondrous old world
exotic charm with your guide taking you on a fascinating wander through
its labyrinths; with a stop at the foot of the famous Katoubia Minaret.
Continuing on you visit the Saadian Tombs and Bahia Palace with its
lush Moorish style garden. Lunch included at a nice local restaurant.
After lunch, walk discovery of the most colorful souks of the medina
and finally stroll the famous Jemaa El Fna Square, an ancient meeting
place of North African tradesmen, entertainers, musicians, snake charmers
and storytellers. Your guide will show you so many fascinating sites
in this famous Imperial city (B, L).
Day 9 : Marrakech
Breakfast. Marrakech You have the entire day at leisure: perhaps wander
and shop the souks again, have your driver take you for a short 1 hour
drive into the High Atlas to beautiful Ourika Valley or maybe just choose
to relax and enjoy your surroundings.
Tonight you have a real treat of a Fantasia Dinner Show, a grand folklore
show featuring tribesmen and women from different parts of the country.
You will enjoy a Moroccan dinner with local salads, cous cous, lamb
and other specialties. Overnight at your hotel (B, Fantasia dinner and
show).
Day 10 : Marrakech
Day at leisure. Tonight you celebrate your fantastic Marrakech stay
with a “very special” farewell dinner at a palatial fine
Moroccan restaurant. Overnight at your hotel (B, Special dinner).
Day 11 : Departure
Transfer and assistance with departure formalities at the Marrakech
Airport for your return flight with the fondest of memories
