They spent a lot of time preparing a tailored itinerary for us and once there everything happened like clockwork. We started in Cairo, spent two wonderful days in the beautiful Old Cataracts Hotel, Aswan, then sailed on the Moon Goddess down to Luxor. At each point the Travel in Style guides/reps were charming, informative and went out of their way to ensure that we saw and experienced the best of everything. The Moon Goddess was wonderful, the food was great, very comfortable accommodation and all the staff on board were really helpful and friendly. The only hiccup was waiting for several hours in the queue for the lock at Esna which meant we sailed the next part overnight. The Nile was beautiful beyond my expectations and the sailing is very quiet and peaceful. From Luxor we flew down to Cairo and stayed in the Grand Hyatt Hotel which was first class and again we were looked after impeccably by our guide Ahmed. We are back from our a one-week visit to Egypt (July 2004). It was wonderful! Everything was perfectly organized, and we had very good guides (Ashraf during the cruise and Mohammed for the day-visit in Cairo). The hotels in Cairo were very nice and, for the cruise we had the nicest rooms in the Monte Carlo with excellent service! The transfers were always well in time and the people who welcomed us were all very kind and helpful. The sites we visited in Cairo, Luxor & Aswan were amazing. It was an unforgettable experience for all of us. We all loved it! The evening/dinner in the family in Cairo was great: we had a very good time with Ashraf (of Cairo) and his family! The sights along the Nile, including the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, were just as spectacular as the amazing pyramids in Giza. What an experience! Most importantly, this family vacation was made interesting and fun for our young children, ages 2 and 5. Your staff at Travel in Style really took care to include our children in these travel plans. The staff on board the Amarco cruise ship provided over-the-top service to our entire family.

From special meals offered to our children, a family-sized private dining booth at dinner, and the many complimentary snacks and drinks handed to our children throughout our cruise all contributed to making our children feel welcome and special. We have been talking about our wonderful Egyptian experience non-stop since our return. Unfortunately, many people think that Egypt is not safe for Americans travelling with children.

I cannot say enough good things about the wonderful experience we had in Egypt. The trip was probably the nicest we have ever experienced or for that matter ever will. Every detail was taken care of impecably and we did not have to lift a finger ever. Marcos met us in Cairo after waiting for us 12 hours because of delays at Heathrow. There were masses of people there at 4am because 4 large jets came in at the same time and he managed to get us through immigration rather quickly and got us to the Nile Hilton. We had a wonderful suite there and just put my mother in law in the living room portion. What a beautiful hotel! The ship, the Monte Carlo, was also wonderful. All of us found the food absolutely delicious. They however, had given the upgrade to some Italians so we had a regular room, which was fine. The staff aboard were outstanding also. Our guide throughout the upper Nile cruise was a man named Muhammed who spoke very clear English and was extremely knowledgable about the history and sites. A couple of women, from Switzerland, joined our group, because they could not understand the English of their guide, and we enjoyed meeting them and touring with them also. I must say that the Movenpick Resort at El Gouna was breathtaking. It reminded me allot of the Grand Wailea in Maui. I thought the food on the ship was great but Movenpick was even more. All of us really enjoyed the food in Egypt tremendously! The salads were so outstanding as well as the lavish desserts. I came back weighing at least 5 lbs more than when I left!

I want to thank you so very much for giving me the best vacation ever. My husband and mother in law would also concur in that evaluation. The people of Egypt were so kind and welcoming.
I would highly recommend Travel In Style and Sakara Tours to any of my clients interested in Egypt and I certainly will.
The only thing I didn't care for, and I know tour leaders always do this, is take you to these shops that sell stuff highly marked up. I wouldn't mind if it was a little higher than in the regular shops but goods were often 10x the amount you could buy them for like in hotel stores. That leaves you with the feeling that the tour guide is not looking out for your best interests. I would rather tip the tour guide more and have them take you to reputable places in which they are not sharing profits.
Also I forgot to mention the wonderful lunch we had aboard the Cleopatra. Mustafa was most welcoming and the food was very good indeed. Thank you also for the galabias. We will enjoy wearing them very much and think of you. I think that more of my clients would prefer the Monte Carlo for the variety of activites and socialization but I could see selling that product to a smaller niche market i.e. honeymooners and people who would prefer the serenity of private accomodations. Thank you for the opportunity to see another product.

Thank you for making the wonderful arrangements for my trip to Egypt.
Everything worked out perfectly. The staff was and the tour guides were excellent. In particular I enjoyed Sheerim's detailed historical knowledge in Cairo. She has dynamic style and the expertise to bring Egypt's history alive, and both Cairo tour and the pyramid tour became even more memorable with her explanations. Medhat was enjoyable company
during the Nile Cruise. Ahmed and the drivers were always on time, and a constant source of help. Please also give my thanks again to Maya for organizing the dinner at her home, in particular to her Mom for providing all the delicious food, and her Dad for his hospitality after a long day on campus.

The Nile cruise on MS Amarco was comfortable and elegant. Tiffany and I had a chance to see other boats, but the Amarco was definitely the best, and we had a very nice and comfortable suite. I had an all around
enjoyable trip to Egypt, and wished I would have stayed a little bit longer. I am telling friends an colleagues all the nice things that I have experienced, and hope to make increase American tourism to Egypt.

The crew on the dahabia was fantastic. We all want to return forever and live on the boat. The food was incredible and we all feel healed from the past year from floating down (up?) the Nile. What a wonderful experience. I am so angry at myself for getting sick and now I want to go back and hang out on Elephantine Island with Mustafa and the boys. As soon as I felt better, I wanted to return.

Hussein was absolutely terrific. I think we have all make good friends and we miss him and Achmed a lot. Abdu was great, too. We had a lot of fun with him and we feel like we have adopted him.

We are safely back home and wanted to let you know that we had an absolutely marvelous time.

From the grandeur of the Great Pyramid in Cairo to the bustling crowd in Aswan's downtown market, at no time did we ever feel unsafe or anxious for our well being. Just the opposite, in fact. Egypt has made the safety and security of its visitors a priority. Whenever anyone learned that we were from America, we were given a friendly smile and a big "Welcome!"

Wallid in Cairo made it his personal quest to ensure that our trip was a fabulous experinec and he more than succeeded. When John and I were discussing his tip, I told John that when I saw him coming to greet us on the train platform in Cairo, that I would have given him everything I had!! The gift of the beautiful personalized cartouches was simply incredible and then a set of golf shirts and hats on top of that. The dinner cruise on the beautiful "The Pharoahs" was a fantastic finish to our trip.

We again want to thank you for providing us with Mohammed, Wallid, and our excellent drivers in Cairo. We simply cannot imagine that anyone could have been better. They were all very knowledgeable, friendly, and made us feel at home.

The Nile cruise was definitely a dream come true. As I mentioned before, our suite was wonderful!! We loved having the sitting area and felt like real VIPs with our own private balcony, or at least that's what we called. I'm sure the ship's navigator preferred to think of it as his area for helping to dock the ship! We can never thank you enough for arranging for us to have this room.

The Movenpick Radamis II was fantastic as well. Literally, our wish was their command. The manager asked us to write a letter of recommendation, which we did and gave to him before we left. He had said he had faxed it to his boss and our agent, but I'm not sure to whom it was sent.

I will write a separate note on our wonderful experience in Turkey and include the Transbalkan agency as an addressee as well.

I would like to suggest that travelers be told in advance that, even though the tomb of King Tut in on the itinerary, they must pay a separate admission fee if they want to see it. Also, they must also pay for all beverages, even water, iced tea, and soft drinks, for the meals that are included. The admission to Tut's tomb wasn't much (LE 40 each), but the beverages did add up, not a huge amount but enough that someone might need to know when figuring how much money to take.

Thanks again for all your efforts! My digital camera and John's cameras are filled with great memories of a wonderful trip.

We had an amazing trip! The tour company Amarco was prompt, professional, respectful and courteous. Mia was personable, energetic and answered all of our questions etc. Someone met us at the airport, helped us through customs and took us to the hotel. I must say that having someone to help at the airports was invaluable, the smaller airports looked like it was just people yelling at each other, I don’t think we would have gotten on the plane!

Accommodations were wonderful. The Conrad was very nice.
The Nile cruise- amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Again, impeccable service, clean rooms, decent food, in fact, the celebration they had for us upon arrival was great. At first we had no idea what was going on, we thought they did this for everyone! What the men do with the skirt is artistic.

Having the larger room really made a difference. Mustafa was our guide on the ship and we really enjoyed his company. He provided invaluable insight into various topics and one night in Answan he took us around town and bought us ice cream!! We enjoyed meeting him so much that he had dinner with us at the Old Cataract Hotel (that dining room was amazing).

Getting off the beaten path was definitely worth it. Seeing the major historical sites was surreal. But, these temples were packed with tourists who do not always respect where they are. We saw people throw trash in sarcophagus’s in the valley of the kings, people touching and climbing things, at Karnack I saw people climbing into an altar! When we got out to the Oasis, it was peaceful and wonderful. It was a LONG drive out there, but once we were there, it was worth it. Seeing the town and going to the Bedouin village was neat. We were the only people at the folk show so we had a private “concert”. The culture outside Cairo was so different and the monuments were very peaceful. I think the highlight of our trip was camping. It was a LONG drive out there , but when we got to the white desert……I can’t even describe it. The sky was beautiful and it was so desolate! We had a very good interpreter and the guide we had out there was very professional and nice. I think the best meal I had was out in the dessert, rice and vegetables.

Savoy hotel was nice, snorkeling was great. The staff at the hotel was very laid back but we had no problems. I needed a doctor and the Hotel had one at our room within the hour. By the time we got to the beach we were tired! So ending our trip out there was a wonderful ending. I don’t have anything negative to say. I love to travel and to experience different things and this was perfect. I’m sorry we had to cancel the home hosted dinner and our Nile Dinner cruise but we had a very full trip. The only thing I wish I had done differently was to bring boxes with me to pack things that I purchased. We stopped at an alabaster factory and purchased 2 vases, they were wrapped, but by the time we got to the airport they were smashed and ended up in the trash. Again, assistance at the airport was invaluable. We also had a great farewell parade at the Conrad our last night which was lots of fun. Our room was upgraded to the 22nd floor. Amarco was also very generous, they gave us a papyrus with our name and the key of life and upon departure gave us a cartouche with our names.

Other travelers may find it helpful if you provided some guidelines on “tipping” it was difficult to determine how much to give people and who to tip. Please let me know if you need more details or any specifics, I would also be happy to serve as a reference. I am already starting to plan my trip for next year!

Hi!

I cannot say enough nice things about Travel In Style. Both here in the States and in Egypt, your group went above and beyond the call of duty for us. It was really wonderful to get the chance to travel on the Ganna, and we appreciate your change to our itinerary in order to accomodate it.

We were so surprised and pleased when Mr. Ibrahaim met us at the train station in Aswan and arranged to bring us to our hotel. He was really helpful in assisting us with our travel plans. Also, the gentlemen who met us in Giza to bring us to the train station were wonderful, picking up our tickets for us and waiting for our train to arrive. I'm sure we would have been lost forever in Ramses station without them!

Our guide on the boat, Mohammad, was just terrific. He really gave us some amazing insights into both ancient and modern Egypt, and we also got some firsthand experience with the Egyptian sense of humor, as well as picking up some useful Egyptian Arabic phrases.
(Boukra fe meshmesh is one of my favorites--although I'm sure I've spelled it wrong).

The Ganna was just lovely, and I can't say enough nice things about the crew. My friend, Rosella, particularly enjoyed the puzzles that Mr. Adel posed for her at mealtimes. She even managed to solve a few of them. The waiters were all top-notch, and the chef was brilliant.

Finally, I have to say that Mr. Mina Samy was really fantastic in coordinating everything. He was always available to take my calls and very patient with my questions.

I would highly recommend Travel In Style to anyone (and have been since I returned). I hope to return to Egypt someday, and I will definitely contact you again when I do. I will also keep you in mind for other future travel plans.

Honeymoon in Egypt - July 2004

The honeymoon was wonderful. The guides were excellent and the boat was fantastic. We especially enjoyed our visit to the Egyptian family, it was a great insight to how the Egyptians live and we would recommend it to other travellers. We would like to pass on our thanks to 2 of the guides who were exemplary in their service. They were Rafik in Cairo and Ashraf on the Nile cruise.

We have attached a couple of photos from our wedding and from the honeymoon. Thanks again for making our honeymoon so memorable, we have already recommended to you to our friends.
